Harold Thomas Parham

Belews Creek- Harold Thomas Parham, 75, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011at his home. He was born July 29, 1936 in Forsyth Co. to the late James E. and Martha G. Parham. Mr. Parham was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church, and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after many years of service. He was the loving foundation of his family, offering strength, love and wisdom. With his kind heart and willingness to do and care for others, he bestowed his time and generosity to the community, most notably with the Belews Creek Fire Department where he volunteered his services for 49 years, which includes 9 years serving as Fire Chief. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Conrad S. Parham; two sisters, Thelma Neal and Jeanette Spaugh; and a brother-in-law, Steve Howerton. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia H. Parham of the home; three sons, Craig Parham and wife, Ellen, Scott Parham, and Todd Parham and wife, Lori all of Belews Creek; ""Paw Paw"" had a special relationship with his grandchildren, Nicholas, Tanner, Grace, Tyler, Brook and Little Jack; three sisters, Rachel Boyles of King, Virginia Crews of Kernersville, Mary Alice Boles and husband, Bob of Jamestown; two brothers, Richard Parham and wife, Wanda of Belews Creek, Alvin Parham and wife, Shelby of Clemmons; two brothers-in-law, Don Neal of Belews Creek and Donald Spaugh of Clemmons; sisters-in-law, Gerry Parham of Belews Creek, Sherri Howerton of Triangle, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, October 31, 2011 at Belews Creek Christian Church with the Rev. Larry Neal officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Hospice of Stokes Co., PO Box 863, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 or Belews Creek Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, PO Box 129, Belews Creek, NC 27009.
