Harold Gaynor Mabe

Mr. Harold Gaynor Mabe, 79, of Pfafftown, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on November 17, 1935 in Stokes County to James Zelmer Mabe and Elsie Mae Gentry Mabe. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Mabe graduated from King High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from April of 1957 until April of 1963 and was honorably discharged on May of 1963. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Annette Mabe. He is survived by a daughter, Penny Mabe Acio and husband Arvin of Winter Springs, FL; two grandchildren, Derek and Mallory Acio; a brother, Conrad Mabe and wife Bernice of Lewisville; a sister, Kathy Thompson of Clemmons; a niece, Ann Stamper and husband Terry of Advance; a nephew, Mark Mabe of Pfafftown; a great niece, Julie Stamper; two great nephews, Clint Mabe and Michael Stamper. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Carl Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in King. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
