Harold David Hopkins, Sr.

KERNERSVILLE-Harold David Hopkins, Sr., 73, passed Sunday, January 11, 2015. He was born March 20, 1941 in TN to the late Rev. Lon Calvin and Myrtle Johnson Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins was a born again Christian, who lived his life serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He believed his purpose in life was letting others know that Jesus Christ is Lord.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Mayes Hopkins; and brothers, James and Mack Hopkins.

Surviving are his sons, Harold Hopkins, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Michael Hopkins and wife, Dana; grandchildren, Hal David and Daniel Hopkins, Heather Watson, Brooke and Briana Winter, and Hannah Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Chloe Hopkins, Natalie and Ethan Hancock, Haleigh Hancock and Carter Gray Watson; brother, Melvin Hopkins; and sister, Faye Hopkins McMurray.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Rob. Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at the funeral home.
