Mr. Harold Gray Duggins, 83, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born October 31, 1927 in Stokes County to William Eugene and Eunice Burrow Duggins. Mr. Duggins was of the Methodist faith. He was a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was recently attending Arcadia United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953 where he was with the 582nd Medical Ambulance Company in the U.S. Army where he still kept in touch with five of his comrades. He was employed with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. until he formed his own business, Northside Oil Company and worked there until his retirement. He enjoyed music and dancing, and had a passion for old cars. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Homer, Elworth, Velmo and Bobby Duggins. Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Mary ""Jackie"" Duggins of the home; one daughter, Sherry Williams of Winston-Salem; one brother, William Clyde Duggins; two sisters, Hazeleen Payne and husband Bobby of Rural Hall, and Annie Lee Stewart of Winston-Salem; two sisters-in-law, Hagar Duggins of Winston-Salem and Ola Duggins of King; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Patrick Marion and Shirley Craver officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with military rites by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
