Harley "Bill" Pennington

Mr. Harley “Bill” Lester Pennington, 91, was called home to heaven on Friday, March 3, 2023 at his home.  He was born in Davie County on October 28, 1931 to the late James Robert and Ruth Beck Pennington.  Early in life, Bill managed Reid’s Dairy Farm (1940-1977) with his dad, then went to work for Brookberry Farms where he worked until he passed away.  He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Lewisville.  Bill’s greatest joys were his family, his cows, and friends.  He was recently honored with a road dedication in his honor by Quality Oil.  Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Preceding him in death was his wife, Betty Dalton Pennington; his ex-wife, Travis Craft; sister, Laura Neary (Walt); brother, Samuel “Bud” Pennington (Blanche).  He leaves behind two daughters, Cathy Driver and Lisa McClure (Wayne); two step-daughters, Lynda Harper and Lori Craft (Darren); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Pastor Zachary King officiating.  Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
