Harley "Doc" Griffin Britt

Mr. Harley ""Doc"" Griffin Britt, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 3, 1929 in Montgomery County to Daniel Harley and Nina Flippin Britt. Mr. Britt was a long time member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and served as past treasure where he and his wife sang in the choir for many years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army. He was retired from Piedmont Airlines with 36 years of loyal service. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Delphine Britt, five sisters; Dorothy B. Weick of Kernersville, Cornelia Pope of Lexington, Geraldine Smith of Tampa, FL., Virginia Thompson also of Winston-Salem, Shirley Tuttle of Indialantic, FL., and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Union Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Fletcher, Rev. Kenneth Harris, and Rev. T.W. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.
