In His sovereignty, the Lord called Hannah Fain Stewart home to heaven on January 1, 2023. A daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, wife, mother, and friend, Hannah is already greatly missed by all who loved her.
Hannah was born May 30, 1989, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and resided there until her family moved to Pinnacle where Hannah lived as a teenager and young adult. She was a graduate of Gospel Light Christian School and attended Pensacola Christian College. Most recently, Hannah resided in Winston-Salem and was employed as a Human Resources Specialist with Truist Financial Corporation.
Hannah is survived by her husband Clifton Stewart and daughter Elsie Mae; parents Thurman and Monya Fain; brother Justin Fain and wife Elizabeth and their children Eldon, Rosemary, and Harrison; maternal grandparents John and Charlotte Rasey; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Fain and Rasey families.
While Hannah’s earthly life was relatively short, her impact for Christ will last for eternity. She was passionate about knowing Jesus and making Him known to others, completing multiple short-term missions trips to the Philippines with Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association, a trip to Scotland with 20schemes Ministry, and other trips to Bolivia and Mexico. A gifted communicator, Hannah shared reports of her missions trips in many local churches and challenged others to share their faith and to support the work of missionaries across the globe. Hannah also invested in the lives of young people in her own community as a leader in the student ministry of her church. In recent years, Hannah was a faithful, beloved member of Christ Church of Pfafftown where she contributed in many ways, especially in event planning. Hannah’s family and friends benefitted from her special talent to make anything look beautiful and everyone feel as honored guests. Her eloquent writing style elevated the simplest of sentiment to treasured keepsake.
Without a doubt, the ministry Hannah loved most was being a godly wife to Clifton Stewart whom she married November 13, 2021. She enjoyed every minute of the life they shared and cherished their quiet moments together. It was with great anticipation that Hannah and Clifton welcomed daughter Elsie Mae, and Hannah’s last days were devoted to caring for her sweet baby and preparing to bring her home.
While Paul penned the words of Philippians 1:20-21, Hannah would certainly echo these:
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
A funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 305 Bethania-Rural Hall Road, Rural Hall, NC 27045, on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Christian Community Baptist Church Cemetery, 1180 McDaniel Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
