Hannah Geraldine Beanie" Alspaugh Nifong

Mrs. Hannah Geraldine ""Beanie"" Alspaugh Nifong, 69, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born March 5, 1939 in Forsyth County to Carlton Gaither and Jessie Kimel Alspaugh. Mrs. Nifong was retired from BB&T. She was a very active member of First Alliance Church in Lexington and has been an organist in several different churches. She was a lifetime member of Alliance Women. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Gray Nifong; two brothers; and four sisters. Surviving are her husband, Harold L. Nifong; two daughters, Rhonda Summer (Steve) of Winston-Salem, and Pastor Myra Thomason (Gray) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Rebecca Lucas (Brian), Brian Summer, Jake Thomason, and Hannah Thomason; three sisters, Sara Chamblee of Winston-Salem, Mary Parrish of Norfolk, VA, and Donna Whitley (Richard) of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Paul Titus officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
