Hade Watson

Kernersville- Hade McKinley Watson, 92, passed away February 20, 2022. He was born August 5, 1929 in Boone, NC to the late Millard and Sector Watson. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and retired from Piedmont Airlines after 38 years of service.

Mr. Watson was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for 64 years and faithfully served in the Bus Ministry until he was unable physically to continue. Mr. Watson and his late wife of 64 years, Louise Simmons Watson, worked with the widows of Gospel Light and hosted many activities at their home and trips for them.

He also had a workshop behind his home where he repaired lawn and garden equipment. Mr. Watson also enjoyed gardening, raising honeybees, and was a certified beekeeper.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Bro. Matthew Morrison and Bro. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church at 890 Walkertown Gutherie Road, Winston Salem, NC 27101.
