Kernersville - Rev. Guy Franklin Lineberry, departed for Heaven, Wednesday, April 6, 2016. He was born November 23, 1929 in Alleghany Co. to the late Esther Sidden and Oscar Allen Lineberry. He retired from Sara Lee Corporation after many years of service. Mr. Lineberry also served in recent years as the Senior Adult Ministry Pastor at North Pointe Church. His previous ministry experience included pastoring in Sugar Grove, VA. Guy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved the mountains of Virginia where he grew up and his happy place was his cabin in Elk Creek.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Conard, Clifford, Claston, Alvin, Paul Lineberry; and his granddaughter, Jessica Doroshuk. Surviving are; his wife of almost 68 years, Laura Lineberry; a son, T.L. Lineberry and wife, Kathie of Greensboro; three brothers, Dewey, Calvin, and Larry Lineberry. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Wesley, (wife, Dee) Lineberry, Jacob (wife, Katy) Lineberry, Paige Nance (husband, Erik), Joy Cozart (husband, Jordan); a grandson-in-law, Terry Doroshuk; and ten great grandchildren, all of Greensboro, plus dozens of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2016, at his home church, North Pointe Church with Pastor Darrell Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville, NC. Memorials may be made to the North Pointe Church Building Fund at 5225 High Point Road, High Point, NC 27265. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Lineberry family.
