Mr. Gregory ""Greg"" Daton Smith, 59, of Kernersville, went on to be with his Lord Jesus on February 15, 2017at Kate B. Reynolds after a courageous battle with cancer. Greg was born on June 13, 1957 in Forsyth County to Waymouth Daton ""Bill"" and Doris Hutchins Smith. He was the founder and president of Tarheel Buffers in Kernersville, NC. Greg established Putters Fore Prostate Cancer Foundation. His passion was to bring awareness to Prostate Cancer and early detection. He began the PFPC Golf Tournament in 2009. He is survived by a sister, Cindy Smith Miller (Frank); his niece Leslie Miller Moore (Landon) and children, Madison, Dayton and Braydon; a nephew, Brandon Miller (Jenn) and children, Emerson and Josie; his aunts, Nancy Smith, Barbara Byrd and Harriett Reyes and many cousins and friends. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Danny Spainhour and Doug Odell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Putters Fore Prostate Cancer c/o Derek Hill, 821 Terrace Dr. Lexington, NC 27295. or Kate B.
