Gregory James Parker

Mr. Gregory James Parker, 60, of Advance passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on October 28, 1954 to James and Jean Parker. He was a member of Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Parker attended Emmanuel College and Virginia Tech. Mr. Parker faithfully served God all of his life and always spoke of God's goodness. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Teresa Parker; a son, Benjamin John Parker; two daughters, Loren Michelle Parker and Krista Elaina Parker Westbury; son-in-law Mitchell Westbury; two brothers, Scott Parker, David Parker and his wife, Sally; sister, Pamela Parker Webb and her husband David Webb. A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with the Rev. Dave Richardson and the Rev. David Elgin officiating. Burial will follow at Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
