Gregory Peter Makitka

Mr. Gregory Peter Makitka, 49, of Winston-Salem, formerly of Carnegie, PA, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born on June 20, 1962 in Pittsburgh, PA to Harry and Theresa Makitka. Greg was a graduate of Chartiers Valley High School, class of 1980 and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in civil engineering. He was a devoted son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and cousin. In addition to his parents, Greg is survived by a nephew, Andrew Makitka and niece, Kaitlyn Bryan; a sister, Terri Bryan; brother-in-law, Gary; and a brother, Glenn. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20 from 4-8 p.m. with Trisagion (Orthodox prayer service) at 7:30 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
