Gray Floyd Todd, 86, died July 27, 2009 of congestive heart failure at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 8, 1923 to William and Martha Foltz Todd. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Gray was raised at the Children's Home from age 8 until he turned 18 when he joined the Army Air Corp in WWII. Upon his discharge he returned to the Children's Home seeking employment on February 10, 1946 where he worked 62 years performing various jobs ending up as the farm manager until his retirement on December 31, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Irvin Todd and sisters, Cleve T. Tesh, Ruth T. Pierce, and Frances T. Krites. Surviving are several nieces and nephews and a close friend and caregiver, Colleen Hutchens; also left to mourn the loss of a good friend are his friends at McDonald's on Stratford Road and his friends at Rancho Restaurant at Kernersville and High Point Roads. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Woosley Chapel at the Children's Home. The family would like to thank Hospice for their kind and thoughtful care.
