Grady Lawrence Morris

Mr. Grady Lawrence Morris, 80, of Winston-Salem passed away on October 13, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 30, 1935 in Forsyth County, the son of the late Ernest and Dorothy Kimel Morris. Grady attended R. J. Reynolds High School and upon graduation enrolled in Abilene Christian College. After college he proudly served his country for three years in the US Marine Corps. He was a self-employed Catastrophe Adjuster and was a long time member of South Fork Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jo Crabtree Morris of the home; two daughters, Kym Lain and husband, Dorian of Knoxville, TN and Kelly La Chapelle and husband, Russ of Mocksville; two sons, Lance Morris of Winston-Salem and Gavin Morris of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Rhodes of Mocksville, Christopher Rhodes of Boone, Ryan Lain and Kaleigh Lain of Knoxville, TN, Jadon Morris of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Shelby Holland, Madison Holland, Chelsea Holland and Bailey Holland of Mocksville; one great granddaughter, Palmer Rhodes of Mocksville; one sister, Sandra Gross and husband, Harvey of Winston-Salem; and two nieces, Tammy Barnette and Tina Spach of Kernersville. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 AM at Southfork Church of Christ with Mr. Charles Belch of South Fork Church of Christ, Winston-Salem and Mr. Claude Pharr of North Main Street Church of Christ, Mocksville officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
