Grady Warren Kiser

Mr. Grady Warren Kiser, 74, of Rural Hall passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at his home. He was born in Stokes County to the late Joseph Wiley Kiser and Mattie Era Sheppard Kiser on February 18, 1937. Grady graduated from King High School in 1955 and attended Wake Forest University. He was employed with Pilot Freight Lines for 25 years and retired from the City of Winston-Salem after 11 years of service. He was a member of Jefferson Church of Christ in Rural Hall. Grady was a devoted Christian, husband, dad, and papa who always put other's needs before his own. In addition to his parents, Grady was preceded in death by his step-mother, Vearl Linville Kiser. Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Mary McMickle Kiser of the home; daughter, Robin Kiser Scruggs and husband, Allen Scruggs of VA; son, Dennis Kiser and wife, Sherri of King; three grandsons, Justin and Zachary Hooker of VA and Noah Kiser of King; also, two brothers, Joseph Kiser and wife, Annabel of Germanton and Robert Kiser and wife, Cheryl of Kernersville. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 9 at Jefferson Church of Christ with Minister Jerry Simpkins and Minister Steve Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 8 at the church.
