Grace Trivette Upchurch

Mrs. Grace Trivette Upchurch, 92, our sweet Mama, Granny, Aunt went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Brookridge Retirement Community. She was born January 28, 1920 in Yadkin County, the daughter of the late, Lazarus and Ellen Crater Trivette. Grace graduated salutatorian of the 1935 class at Union Grove School. She worked at Hunter Publishing Company for 33 years and then worked part time for several years after her retirement. She was a faithful member of Konnoak Baptist Church, working in the nursery for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John ""Red"" Upchurch; five brothers, Lee (Minnie) Trivette, Paul (Etta) Trivette, Charlie (Ruth) Trivette, Bruce (Geneva) Trivette, and Hubert Trivette and two sisters, Cleo (Fred) Crater and Effie (George) Henderson. Grace is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Keel and husband, Curtis; a grandson, John Smith; two granddaughters, Michelle Smith and Lindsay Aggar. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Daisy Trivette; a special nephew, Tim Henderson and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:15 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel followed by the funeral service at 2:30 PM with Rev. John Bishop officiating. A private family interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ""WFUHS"" and earmark it to benefit the ""Kulynych Dementia Research Center"", Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, P. O. Box 571021, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
