Grace Williams Springer

Mrs. Grace Williams Springer, 78, of Winston-Salem died Friday, December 18, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born August 20, 1931 in Grayson County, VA, the daughter of the late Allie Keister and Maggie Walker Williams. Mrs. Springer was a member of First Wesleyan Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her trips to Virgina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Springer, Sr., three brothers, two sisters, one great grandaughter and a step son. Survivors include six sons, Allen Reeves and wife, Wanda of Murrells Inlet, SC, Larry Springer and wife, Melinda and Terry Springer and wife Jean of Winston-Salem, Erich Springer and wife, Becky of Lewisville, David Thum and wife, Gail of Rural Hall and Mark Thum of NY; four daughters, Linda Bobbitt and husband, Charles of Independence, VA, Brenda Brown and husband, Ralph of Elk Creek, VA, Colleen Springer and husband, Randall Wooten of East Bend and Cynthia Springer-Jones and husband, Ken of King; twenty four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one sister, Vergie Mays of Winston-Salem; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; three stepsons, Dick Springer and wife, Ann of Fruitland, FL, Bob springer and wife, Barbara of Adelphi, MD and Les Springer and wife, Brenda of Chesapeak, VA; twelve step grandchildren and fifteen step great grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 AM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Jimmy W. Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
