Grace Robertson East

Mrs. Grace Robertson East, 84, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Grace was born on January 27, 1926 in Winston-Salem, to the late James Eller and Mary Spaugh Robertson. Grace grew up on a dairy farm, loved the Blue Ridge Parkway and was a loving mother. She retired from Bahnson Company and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years. Grace attended Morris Chapel United Methodist Church until her health declined, where she was a member of the Robert West Sunday School Class. Her mission in life during her final years was ""washing clothes."" Grace is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Albert East; four brothers, Clinton, Paul, Herman (Pete) and Clyde Robertson; and a sister, Edith Bullard. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Ambrose, husband, Stan; a grandchild, Jennifer Grigg, husband, Jody; and a special friend, Henry Bennett. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday June 28, 2010 at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Autrey officiating and Bob Bailey assisting. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the church.
