Golda Sugg Lawson passed away on May 13, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Golda was born December 7, 1918 to Jap Early Sugg and Flossie Callie Davis Sugg in Richmond County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Paul Lawson, Sr.; a sister, Jewell Murray; and four brothers, J.E. Sugg, Jr., Gene Sugg, Merit Sugg and Paul Sugg . Survivors include her loving children, Charlie Lawson, Jr. (Belinda); Barbara Ann ""Bobbie"" Wright (LaVern); grandsons, Christopher Wright (Brandi), Jason Hobson (Bree), and Brian Bentley (Ann); a sister, Jackie Lovings; as well as many special brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Golda was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church for 20-plus years where she faithfully attended both Sunday school and worship services. She lived many years at Robinwood Senior Living in Kernersville. A devoted mother, Golda was happiest when spending time with her children. Cooking for them and caring for their needs was the highlight of her life. Golda enjoyed playing bridge and kept her mind sharp by solving crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Golda created artistic still life paintings in oils and watercolors; and her crafts were featured in the Cricket's Nest. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. R. Dale Hilton and Rev. Rick Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church New Building Fund, 306 S. Main St., Kernersville, NC 27284.
