Mr. Glenn Hazen Rippey, age 75, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday evening, November 13, 2009 at his home in Rural Hall while surrounded by is family. Mr. Rippey was born in Carroll County, Virginia August 12, 1934 to the late Raleigh Columbus and the late Maggie Alice Edwards Rippey. He was retired with 25 years of service as a mechanic for the NCDOT. He was of the Baptist faith. Glenn enjoyed fishing, farming and working his own sawmill. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents Glenn was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Surviving are his wife of 52 years; Louise Potts Rippey of the home. Two daughters; Anita (Greg) Clifton of King and Teresa (Greg) Whittington of Winston-Salem. Two granddaughters; Nicole (Scott) Spillman and Whitney Clifton. Three grandsons; Matthew DeHart, William and Nicholas Whittington. One great grandchild; Carter Spillman. A brother; Rupert ""Joe"" Rippey of Mt. Airy. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Bro. Don Collins, Rev. Clayton Tilley and Rev. Woody Merritt. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, November 16th from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.
