Mr. Glenn Wesley Mickey, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 13, 2012 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stokes Co. the son of the late Edgar Mickey and Glendola Ingram Mickey. Glenn was of the Methodist faith and retired from Duke Power with 33 years of service. After retirement he worked at Bethania Golf Course. On October 7, 2011 he and his loving wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Glenn is survived by his wife, Nancy Mickey of the home, two daughters, Karen (Rusty) Bowers of Wilmington and Kathy (Kevin) Matthews of Winston-Salem, one son, Donnie Mickey of Walnut Cove, three grandchildren, Amanda Bowers, Matthew Bowers and Amethyst Matthews, three great-grandchildren, Aiden Cotton, Jude Bowers and Thane Bowers, two brothers, Richard (Maxine) Mickey and Jerry (Gail) Mickey and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Mickey will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Truett Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tobaccoville. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 this evening July 15, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
