Glenda Sheets ""Gas Lady"" Provence, 75, passed away Sunday, January 04, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Walter Monroe Sheets, Sr. and Stella Slater Sheets. Glenda was of the Church of Christ faith. She loved her family and animals. Glenda retired from the Gas House and Carolina Medical Electronics. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Walter Monroe Sheets, Jr. and William Thomas Sheets; sister, Geraldine Sheets. Surviving is a daughter, Tammie Hedgecock (Barry) of Winston-Salem; a special niece, Libby Moody (Clarence) of Kernersville; two grandchildren, James Macemore (Bethany) and Heather Macemore (Matthew Greene); three great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Addy, and Brynna; two step-great-grandchildren, Haley and Caleb; two great-nieces, Tracy Diane Flinchum and Helen Marie Moore; also surviving are two brothers, Richard Sheets (Shirley) of Lewisville and Gerald Sheets (Sharon) of Louisville, KY and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Morris Little officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
