Glenda Martin

Ms. Glenda Dover Martin, 80, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  She was born in St. Louis City, Missouri on July 24, 1941 to the late Manuel and Bessie Garrison Dover.  Ms. Martin was a member of Redemption Hill Church and was an avid reader of her Bible and many other books.  Preceding her in death was a son, Ricky Allen Parkins and a sister, Carolyne Jones.  Surviving are two sons, John Steve Parkins and Joey Craig Parkins both of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Marcia Mekis of Clemmons and Myra Perry of Wichita, Kansas; the love of her life, her 24 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 5, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Pastor Jason Ledford officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
