Glenda Gobble George

Mrs. Glenda Gobble George went home to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was born on March 18, 1937 to Johnny and Ola Mae Murdock Gobble. Mrs. George loved her church, Union Hill Baptist, where she sang in the choir. She loved to cook and help in the kitchen at church. Glenda graduated from Boyden High School in Salisbury and was a hairdresser by trade. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Johnny Lee George of Kernersville. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Johnny Benson Gobble, Jr. Surviving is her husband and a son, Marty L. George and his fiancée Marilyn of Nashville, TN. A funeral service will be held 2:30 P.M. Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Christopher Burcham officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00pm until 2:30 pm prior to the service. Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is serving the family.
