Gladys Eugenia Freeman Phipps

Kernersville - Mrs. Gladys Eugenia Freeman Phipps, age 93, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Brookdale Hospice home in High Point. She was born April 24, 1922 to the late Bessie Butler Freeman and Eugene Crater. Gladys was a graduate of a modeling school in NY City. Upon graduation she worked in New York City before returning to Winston Salem to work and model for RJR. After marring Stanford, they resided in High Point until 1974 when they retired to Kernersville. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanford Justice Phipps of 55 years, two sisters, and two brothers.

Surviving are; one son Michael Wayne Phipps, Sr. and wife Katherine Adams, two grandchildren, Michael Wayne Phipps, Jr. and Molly Lenore Phipps, two great grandchildren, Michael Neo Phipps and Greyson Lane Sidden, and a brother, Harding Eugene Freeman.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, December 28, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
