Gladys Lorraine Rosenberger Cochran Morawski, formerly of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, currently of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on Monday, April 27, 2015. She was the 11th of 13 children born to James Harrison and Bessie Ewing Rosenberger in Frederick County, Virginia.
She is survived by her son, Thomas C. Cochran, Jr and wife, Barbara, of Advance, grandchildren Linda Cochran Reynolds (Robert) of Vicenza, Italy, and Scott Cochran (Lisa) of Marietta, GA, 11 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph S. Morawski, in 2012, grandchildren Cheryl Cochran Johnston and Thomas C. Cochran, III, her parents and all of her siblings.
She was employed as a civil servant at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, before embarking on the travels of a military wife which took her to Havre de Grace, MD; Tappan and Newburgh, NY; El Paso, Texas and Germany.
Gladys was very devoted to her family and was always thrilled to receive a phone call or card updating her on the latest family news. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking.
The funeral mass will be held in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4820 Kinnamon Road, at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29th. The family will meet with friends immediately following the service. Gladys will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family is being assisted by Hayworth-Miller.
