Gladys Erleen Caudle Jones

Mrs. Gladys Erleen Caudle Jones, 84, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born March 24, 1927 in Surry Co. to the late Rufus Arnold Caudle and Effie Marion Caudle. Mrs. Jones was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling with her sister and daughter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Jones Sr., a brother, Buford Caudle and a grandchild, Brian Richard Jones. Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Jones of Winston-Salem, two sons, John A. Jones Jr. and wife Duane of Deerfield Beach, FL and Rick Jones of Rural Hall, three grandchildren, Erin Whitaker and husband Brian of Kernersville, Christopher Jones and Philip Jones both of Deerfield Beach, FL, a step-grandchild, Clint Queen and wife Kristy of Kernersville and a sister, Dolly Hauser of Shoals. A service to celebrate her life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall with Rev. Joseph Fulk officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Jefferson City Cemetery in West Jefferson at later date.
