Gladys Cook Hayes

Mrs. Gladys Cook Hayes, 93, of Advance passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at her home. She was born April 8, 1923 in Forsyth County to Richmond Bryant and Ethel Dickerson Cook. Mrs. Hayes was a member of Macedonia Moravian Church and retired from Western Electric with 35 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert Harding Hayes Sr.; and three sisters, Virginia Morrow, Grace Overby and Ruby Morris. Surviving are two children, Hubert H. Hayes, Jr. and wife Phyllis and Susan H. Newman and husband Tom, all of Advance and two grandchildren, Nora Hayes and Peter Newman. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 6, 2017 at Macedonia Moravian Church with Rev. Zach Dease officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
