Mrs. Gladys Pike Barlow, 89, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September 17, 1921 in Forsyth County to Jim and Hallie Wilson Pike. Mrs. Barlow was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for more than thirty years. She was a loving caregiver to her family. She was a loving wife, mother and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Roberta Baughman; two brothers, Roy and Luther Pike; and a sister, Reta Garris. Surviving is one son, Robert ""Butch"" Barlow of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Steve and Jeff Baughman, Christina Miller, Joy Sink, and Carol Sigmon; fourteen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one brother, Bud Pike and wife Pauline of Clemmons; a special niece, Jean Goforth and husband Vernon of Lexington; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and the Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Kate B.
