ANDERSON Rural Hall - Mrs. Gladys Scott Anderson, 79, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Monday, February 9, 2009. Mrs. Anderson was born in 1929 in Mt. Airy to the late Sadie and Walter Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Tom and Roscoe; a sister, Maggie all of Mt. Airy. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of 61 years, Chester Anderson of the home; a son, Mike (Cynthia); a daughter, Debbie Carroll (Rick Bryant) all of King. Granny leaves three granddaughters, Stacey Pettit (Brian) of Indianapolis, Lori Beth Clifton (Michael) of Walkertown, and Nikki Damon (Evans) of Charlotte; and a grandson, Shane Carroll of Tobaccoville; two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Ashley Clifton of Walkertown. She is also survived by two brothers, Arthur and Bill; six sisters, Maydee, Mary, Margaret, Maxine, Faye and Ruby all of Mt. Airy; also a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted today, Wednesday, February 11 at 3:00 P.M. at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Norman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
