Ginger Gaye Swaim Whitt

WINSTON-SALEM - Ginger Gaye Swaim Whitt, 60, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. Ginger was born on December 28, 1951, in Forsyth County to the late Gilbert Fletcher and Frances Leona Ketner Swaim. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and avid Tarheel fan, who loved to watch her grandson play ball. She was a fighter who battled MS for 25 years, never losing her smile and inspiring all she knew. As a certified dental assistant, Mrs. Whitt always loved dentistry and helping patients despite her struggles. Ginger was a lifetime member of the American Dental Assistants Association, serving as past president. Surviving are her husband, of 40 years, Arthur Javan Whitt; two sons, Cameron Whitt and Corey Whitt (wife, Kerri); grandson, Gabriel Whitt; mother-in-law, Inez Whitt; and many other close friends. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Saul officiating. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm prior to the service, Sunday, at the church.
