Mrs. Ginger Ruth Whitaker Mock, 51, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Ginger was born on November 16, 1971 in Forsyth County to Lewis Braxton Whitaker, Jr. and Brenda Anders Whitaker. She graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1990. You could often hear her using her favorite phrase “Hello Sunshine.” She made it a passion of hers to always search for the diamond in the rough at places such as Goodwill or local yard sales. Ginger enjoyed visiting Tehachapi, California. But her favorite place to visit was the beach. She had a soul that belonged listening to the waves. Her love for animals was strong, especially when it came to her fur babies “Beary” and “Pookie." She loved spending her free time with her two grandbabies, Willow and Leo. Her family will forever miss her famous meatloaf, chicken stew, deviled eggs and beloved cherry crunch dessert. She is preceded in death by her brother, Michael "Micky" Lewis Whitaker and best friend, Kevin McCook. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband Michael Mock; two sons, Alex Whitaker and Nicholas Martinez; sister, Janice Whitaker Call (Glenn); grandchildren; Willow Whitaker, Leo Ramos Martinez and a grandson due in April; nephews, Josse Davis and Jacob Davis. Ginger is also survived by many extended family members and friends. No formal services are scheduled at this time. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mrs. Mock.
