Gilbert Hassel Sheets

 Mr. Gilbert Hassel Sheets passed away at his home on October 29, 2023. He was born in Forsyth County on February 21, 1934 to the late George Harrison Sheets and Mattie Lawrence Sheets. Gilbert graduated from Lewsville High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He worked at Western Electric for over 35 years and retired in May 1989. Gilbert loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing (mainly trout fishing). He also enjoyed tending his garden and splitting wood for the wood stove. Gilbert was loved by many and will be missed. He is survived by his wife Virginia Gentry Sheets; two sons David Sheets and wife Christina and Dwayne Sheets and wife Wanda; and three grandchildren Katlin Sheets, Makayla Sheets, and Devon Sheets. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday November 3, 2023 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Winston Salem with Rev. Tim Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.
