Gilbert Frank Caffey

CAFFEY WINSTON-SALEM, Mr. Gilbert Frank Caffey, 87, of Ada Avenue, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Caffey was born in Forsyth County on June 4, 1921 the son of the late John Frank and Eva Fowler Caffey. Mr. Caffey was a very devoted member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He had retired from Hanes Knitwear with 37 years of service and was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII. Surviving is his wife of more than 59 years Mrs. Helen Banner Caffey of the home, a son Gilbert Dalton Caffey and his wife Debbie of Pfafftown, a daughter Patricia K. Anderson of Belews Creek, a granddaughter Andrea Anderson, a grandson Joshua D. Caffey and several other grandchildren, one great granddaughter Crystal Norman. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. David Harmon officiating. Burial with Military Honors by King American Legion Post # 290 will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
