Gerturde Shelton Westmoreland

Mrs. Gertrude Shelton Westmoreland, 96, of Winston-Salem died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born March 2, 1919 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Cyril and Erma Shelton. Mrs. Westmoreland was an active member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Westmoreland and her daughter, Barbara Byrd. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Boose ; one granddaughter, Julie Pfeiffer; one grandson, Brad Ellis, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Riley and Josie Pfeiffer; two nephews, Jerry Shelton and Richard Gatewood; and one niece, Janice Shelton Boggs. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Buffkin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4700 Old Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
