Ms. Gertrude Johnson Crocker, 98, of Winston-Salem, passed away on April 6, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Ms. Crocker was born on October 18, 1912 in New Hanover County, North Carolina to the late Robert and Viola Johnson. Ms. Crocker retired from Made Rite Sandwich Company after many years of service. Preceding Ms. Crocker in death were her parents; two sons, Ronald and James Crocker; a brother, Lewis Bud Johnson. Surviving Ms. Crocker are four daughters, Pat Chappell (Bob) of Winston-Salem, Mary Ann Simmons (Herbert) of Winnabow, N.C., Helen South (Charles) of Delco, N.C. and Gail Bolling of Rocky Point, N.C.; a brother, Alvin H. Johnson of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Geneva Johnson of Wilmington, N.C. and Viola Leitch of Wilmington, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday April 9, 2011 at Parklawn Memorial Parks Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Mark Reed officiating.
