Mrs. Geraline Pettit Knight, 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Geraline was born in Yadkin County on August 13, 1945, to the late James and Flossie O’Mara Pettit. Geraline was an Avon lady for over 40 years, homemaker, and most importantly, a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed Elvis, NASCAR, ACC basketball, Atlanta Braves baseball, spending time with her grandkids, friends, animals, and plants. Geraline will be remembered for her socialization/talking skills (she never met a stranger), and her love for hospitality and welcoming those into her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Gray Knight; a son, Ronnie Lee Knight; brothers, Calvin, Elmer, and Harold Pettit; and sister, Catherine Jackson. Geraline is survived by her son, Robert Knight; daughter, Pam Knight Rumburg (David); grandchildren, Jackson Rumburg and Victoria Rumburg; brothers, Jackie Pettit (Ann), Delmer Pettit, and David Pettit; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Yadkinville, NC. Geraline’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the compassionate care they provided to her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
