Mrs. Geraldine Smith Kiser, 83, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem after a short illness. She was born in Stokes County near Pinnacle on March 14, 1926 to the late Clarence C. and Lala Fulk Smith. Mrs. Kiser was a Christian woman who was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Winston-Salem for over 45 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Kiser worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. from 1944 - 1971 until she became a fulltime housewife. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Smith, Ray Smith, Billy Smith, Gray Smith and two sisters, Harriet Day and Jean Rorer. Mrs. Kiser is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Mack Lee Kiser of the home, a daughter, Sharon Lynn Kiser of Rural Hall, a son, Steve D. Kiser of Rural Hall, three sisters, Margaret Simpson of Red Springs, Peggy Wright of Arcadia and Priscilla Grubbs of Walnut Cove and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Kiser will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Don Harvey and Rev. Brian Alverson officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening Oct. 2, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, 1106 Burke St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
