Geraldine 'Geri' Miller Gibson

Lake Norman-Geri went to be with her heavenly father on January 7, 2012. She died at home with her family beside her after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Geri was born September 5, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Early W. and Ann Yountz Miller. Formerly of Winston-Salem, she moved to Lake Norman in 1985. Geri retired from AT&T as a Manager in 1990 with 37 years of service. She enjoyed going to the beach at Oak Island and loved spending time with her grandson. Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Lee A. Gibson, Jr. of Lake Norman; son, Stephen Miller Gibson of Charlotte; grandson, Jacob Taylor Gibson and his girlfriend, Colleen McGuire of North Palm Beach, Fl; brother, Tony J. Miller and wife Toni of Saddle River, NJ; also surviving is a brother-in-law, Robert T. Gibson and wife Clois of Kernersville, NC and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeri also enjoyed her many close friends and neighbors at Lake Norman. A service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Chris Fitzgerald officiating. Entombment will follow the service. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road Statesville, NC 28652.
