Gerald Harry Ibraham

Gerald Harry Ibraham, of Walnut Cove, NC, died unexpectedly at Forsyth Medical Center on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Mr. Ibraham was born May 18, 1939 to Prince and Sue Ibraham. Mr. Ibraham graduated from Mineral Springs High School and was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation after 30 years of service. In 2003 he was inducted into the High School Sports Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bryson Ibraham. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Ann Ballard Ibraham; one son, Dr. Gerald Jason Ibraham of Virginia Beach; one brother, Jack Ibraham of Winston-Salem; a special sister-in-law, Chrystal Crosby; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 22, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel from 6-8 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Friday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sybil Parks officiating. Special thanks to the 5th Floor Cardiac Unit, Dr. Harris, also John and the many caring nurses. You all have a special place in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's memory to Ibraham Elementary School Library Fund, 5036 Old Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or the American Diabetes Association, by phone at 1-800-DIABETES or by mail.
