Georgia Huffman McInturff

Georgia Virginia Huffman McInturff passed away in Winston-Salem, NC on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. She was born on April 1, 1947 to Chester Huffman and Jurrell Christmas Huffman in Rockingham County, VA. She graduated from Montevideo High School in Penn Laird, VA in 1965, and went on to earn a degree in Nursing from Forsyth Tech in Winston-Salem, NC. Georgia was a gifted RN with NAACOG certification in the field of Ob/Gyn. A life-long member of the United Methodist Church, she actively served in a variety of ministries including choir, hand bells, and the Abundant Living program. Georgia's many talents extended to the home where she created amazing works of cross stitch and crochet. In addition to her father, Georgia was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Huffman. Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 49 years, David McInturff; children, Wayne McInturff (Cathy), Kevin McInturff, and Tara McInturff Kennedy; 8 grandchildren, mother, Jurrell Yarbrough; sister, TeNoncee Feathers (Ron); and daughter-in-law, Billie Jo Transou. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
