Mrs. Georgia Perpatorou Manolakakis, 87, of Lewisville, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 9, 1923 in Cairo, Egypt to Spiro and Amanda Galanos Perpatorou. Mrs. Manolakakis was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. She was educated in Cairo, Egypt and later was a professor in Greece where she spoke five different languages. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Manolakakis. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Wnentowski and husband James of Winston-Salem, and Pari Manolakakis; three granddaughters, Georgianna Strauser, Frances Cook and husband David, Patricia Scelfo and husband Damian; and six great grandchildren, Drew, Jordin, Jonathan, Madison, David and Dominick. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31 at The Greek Orthodox Church with Father Demetri Kangelaris, Father Thomas Guerry, Father George Vlahos and Father George Kiricoples officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a Trisagion at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to The Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or Kate B.
