George Oscar Seivers, of Walnut Cove, entered into the more immediate presence of our Lord on July 27, 2013 and now is ""Alive in Christ"". Mr. Seivers was born in Forsyth County on April 12, 1942 to Salem Waldo and Gladys Lewis Seivers. George was a 1961 graduate of Walkertown High School and studied electronics at Forsyth Technical Community College. He worked for Hanes Knitting, Pepsi Cola, Fairchild Hiller, and Stroh Brewing Company for 30 years until their closing and retired in June 2010 from Wake Forest Animal Resource after 10 years of service. George took great pride in his places of employment and was a loyal and valued employee. He was known as the ""walking book of knowledge"" by his two granddaughters, who he adored. George was an active member of Oak Grove Moravian Church, Reich Fellowship Class, Board of Elders, serving as a Vice-Chairman and as a member of the board, and sang in the choir for 30 years. He was also a member of Salem Chapel Volunteer Fire Department where he was appointed chief at one time. George was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Laura Ellen Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ann Marshall Seivers of the home; daughters, Susan Seivers Price and husband, Steve, and Leah Seivers Mounce and husband Kevin, all of Winston-Salem; twin granddaughters who he loved as his own children, Sarah and Laura Price, who affectionately called him Pa; two sisters, Jenny Patella and husband Nick of Winston-Salem, Mary Walker and husband Howard of Monroe; three brothers, Waldo Seivers and wife Sandra of Raleigh, Gary Seivers and wife Shirley of Georgia, Edgar Seivers and wife Creola of Winston-Salem; two brothers-in-law, Ben Williams of Yadkinville, and Edward Marshall and wife Judy of Walnut Cove; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Oak Grove Moravian Church with the Rev. Matthew Allen and Rev. Charles Fishel officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
