Mr. George Iverson Livengood, 90, of Winston-Salem passed away August 14, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Yadkin County on May 10, 1919 to the late Thomas and Nellie Wilkes Livengood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arizona Brown Livengood; a special son-in-law, Ken Wooten; his brothers, Thomas, Eugene, and Clifton Livengood; his sisters, Ella Swisher and Cora Tate. Mr. Livengood was retired from Piedmont Airlines with 20 years of service and was a charter member of the Southfork Volunteer Fire Department, where he was awarded Fireman of The Year. He was a familiar sight in the Southfork community with his John Deere Tractor helping many friends along the way. He was a well known faithful patron of K&W Cafeteria. Mr. Livengood was led to the Lord and will now rest in his arms forever. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Livengood Turner and her husband, Joe; two sisters, Evolia Moore and Eva Ransome; a brother Fred Livengood; a step-grandson, Randy Turner and wife, Carolyn; a special pal, Becky Watkins; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
