Mr. George Leonard East, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, December 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 29, 1947 in Forsyth County to the late Paul and Daisy East.  George graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1966.  He was a long-time member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.  George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.   He was an avid bowler at Northside Lanes, was a Shag enthusiast, and he was crazy for Christmas.  In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene East.  He is survived by his loving wife, Connie East; two daughters, Julie Greene (Jay) and Christine Daye (Eddie); five grandchildren: Hope Wilkes (T.J.), Jason Huffman (Hannah), Jennifer Greene (Kevin Argabright), Katlin Greene, and Jordan Daye (Kandi); six great-grandchildren: Caiden and Noah Wilkes, Elaina Huffman, Maddox and Malachi Mosley, and Jacob Daye; and brother, William East.  A special thanks would like to be extended to Dr. Kathleen Elliott and her team of the Hematology / Oncology of Novant Health Winston-Salem and to Hospice for their loving care of Mr. East.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness Network, 3074 Brookchase Blvd., Fort Mill, SC 29707 or the Kernersville VA Clinic, 1695 Kernersville Medical Pkwy, Kernersville, NC 27284.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.  (Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall)
