George Pete Lowell King

Greensboro - George ""Pete"" Lowell King passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Wesley Long Community Hospital. He was born February 25, 1937 in Caldwell Co., NC to the late George C. and Lorena Williams King. Mr. King was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church in Stokesdale. He traveled the United States and Canada, with NASCAR Show Cars Division, living a dream with his wife Bea. Pete's most favorite place in the world was Davis Island. Surviving are; his loving wife Bea of the home, a daughter; Kim (Ray) Smith, a son; Kevin King both of Greensboro, four grandchildren; Heather Newsom, Taylor King, Holly and Lindsey Smith; a great grandchild; Karleigh Newsom, and one sister; Selma (Tommy) Canipe. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Guilford Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Walker officiating. The family will receive friends 10-12 am Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
