Winston-SalemMr. George Saylor Huffman, 93, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1919 in Forsyth County to the late Andrew Wesley and Ada Saylor Huffman. Mr. Huffman was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and retired from George L. Sparks Construction Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Lelia Evans Huffman; granddaughter, Tabatha Carole Scott; sister, Beatrice Woosley and a brother, Carl Huffman. Surviving is his wife, Ella Mae Huffman of the home; daughter, Josephine Foster (Kenneth) of Advance; son, G. William Huffman (Karen) of Lewisville; grandson, Bryan Wayne Scott (Kelly) of Clemmons; two great-granddaughters, Sabrina and Samantha West; great-great granddaughter, Allura Maxwell; also surviving is a step-son, Jerry Rhymer. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Brandon Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 522, PO Box 654 Lewisville, NC 27023.
