George Grasso

Cary, NC - Mr. George Richard Grasso, 89, passed away November 4, 2018 at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center. He was born July 7, 1929 to David N. Grasso and Eleanor Jewel Grasso. George worked almost 40 years as an engineer for AT&T and proudly served in the United States Navy for 4 years during the Korean war. In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by a daughter; Gale Susan G. Mabe, granddaughter Tammy and great granddaughter Piper.

Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years; Jane Benson Grasso, and his two daughters; Diane G. (Dave) Wilson, Wendy G. (Bill) Peterson, seven grandchildren; David N. (Kimberly) Wilson, Kristie L. (Melissa) Wilson, Charlie R. Wilson, Jillian E. Mabe, Alex J. Peterson, Michael A. Peterson, Jessie D. (Chad) Yarborough, five great grandchildren; Katy Wilson, Lucas Wilson, Zane Mabe, Keagan Matlock, and Carter Yarborough.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Mt. Gur Cemetery with Pastor Reggie Kimbro officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 -7:30 PM Friday, November 9, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
