George Chris Georgoulias

George Chris Georgoulias, 75, of Winston-Salem passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born September 15, 1938 in Sardinina, Amphilohia, Greece to Chris George and Nina Pappathomas Georgoulias.
He immigrated from Greece to Winston-Salem with his mother and father and six younger siblings to help fulfill his father's dream of a better life for his family. George provided a warm and supportive home for his own family through his strong work ethic and faith in God. He especially enjoyed spending time with his loving grandson, Anthony George Georgoulias.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his courageous wife Vasiliki ""Kiki"" Makris Georgoulias; his children, a son, Chris (Sheryl) of Raleigh, NC and a daughter, Athena Louisa of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are his six siblings, Presbytera Betsy Vlahos (Father George) of Clemmons, NC, Mike Georgoulias (Rita) of Winston-Salem, Irene Georgoulakos (Philip) of Charlotte, NC, Virginia Moutos (Tom), of Winston-Salem, Steve Georgoulias (Demetra) of Charlotte, NC, Sue Arakas (Tommy) of Asheville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, with a Trisagion prayer service at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Demetri Kangelaris, Fr. George Vlahos, Fr. George Kiricoples and Deacon Constantine Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.
